Self-Guided San Francisco Walking Tours

San Francisco has more than 40 hills, and an innovative series of self-guided walking tour booklets pave the way for visitors and San Franciscans alike to avoid every one of them - while enjoying the history, ambience, and views for which the city is known.

Each On the Level SF walking tour is a mile or less - on level ground - accessible for all walkers, including those pushing strollers or traveling by wheelchair.

Three just-released booklets, Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate Bridge/Fort Point, and Cow Hollow now make a total of seven On the Level SF booklets that let walkers get the most of out exploring San Francisco by foot. Other titles include Yerba Buena Gardens, Pacific Heights East, Pacific Heights West, and Fort Mason (the complete text for a Marina Green walk is available free at www.OnTheLevelSF.com).

Each walking tour is filled with interesting commentary, historical facts, and information about points of interest that will be new to even long-time residents. Each easy-to-carry, durable booklet includes maps and color photos.

These booklets ($3.95 each with quantity discounts available) are the perfect "under $5" gift, great premiums for businesses and convention visitors, and an excellent addition to the guest room.

The pamphlets are available at retail stores (including Borders and Clean Well Lighted Place), by mail, phone, fax, email, and on the web from On the Level SF, P.O. Box 47002, San Francisco, CA 94147. The phone number is (415) 776-1253, or email to: OnTheLevelSF@hotmail.com.
