Ontario's Maple Syrup Festival April 5

If you're planning a trip to Toronto in March, you may want to consider adding this "sweet" idea - the "World's Largest One-Day Maple Syrup Festival" Saturday, April 5 in Elmira, about 40 miles west of Toronto. (Next year's event will be held on April 4, 2009).

Recognized in the Guinness Book of Records for attracting 66,529 people, the festival offers a chance to watch the process of collecting sap and boiling it into syrup.

But that's not all: you can also sample syrup on pancakes -- made in the thousands -- and browse through over 100 booths.
