EL AL, Israel's national airline, launches the only nonstop service between Los Angeles and Tel Aviv on July 23, offering West Coast travelers convenient departure and arrival times. The nonstop flights will operate three times a week, year round, on state-of-the art Boeing 777 aircraft featuring personal TV screens at every seat in all three classes of service - First, Platinum Business and Coach. Additionally, wireless Internet and Live TV is currently being installed to the entire 777 fleet operating on the LA - Tel Aviv route. First and Platinum Class Companion Specials First and Platinum Business Class companion specials are available for outbound travel between July 23 and August 31, 2006. Two passengers flying together in Platinum Business can each purchase a roundtrip ticket for $3,418, per person. Two passengers flying together in First Class can each purchase a roundtrip ticket for $4,435 per person. Passengers must make reservations, purchase tickets, and fly together on all flight segments to take advantage of these special roundtrip companion fares. Additionally, EL AL Matmid Frequent flyers can also earn 50% more points when flying in Platinum Business Class before August 31st on a nonstop flight. Special introductory roundtrip Coach Class fares of just $1,259, per person, are also available for passengers flying nonstop from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv between August 18 and August 31, 2006 and just $1,399, per person, for passengers flying nonstop from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv between July 23 and August 17, 2006. The nonstop EL AL flight will depart L.A. every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 12:20 p.m. and arrive in Tel Aviv at 12:50 p.m. (the next day). Returning from Israel, the nonstop flight will conveniently depart Tel Aviv every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 1:15 a.m., allowing passengers a full day in Israel, and will arrive in Los Angeles the same day at 6:45 a.m. EL AL Increases Capacity This is the first time that EL AL has offered year-round nonstop service between L.A. and Israel, thereby increasing the capacity from L.A. by 40%. In addition to the three nonstop flights, EL AL is also operating twice weekly direct flights (with no change of plane) on a 767 aircraft, every Monday and Wednesday. The Boeing 777 aircraft utilized on the nonstop flights between Los Angeles and Tel Aviv feature the latest in aviation technology. EL AL First Class passengers relax in the comfort of flat beds. EL AL Platinum Business Class service has been fully upgraded and now features ultra-suede, electronically controlled spacious seats that fully recline. Each First and Platinum Business Class passenger can enjoy movies, games and music on a personal DVD player and each Business Class seat has a 110-volt electric outlet for a laptop computer. High-Speed Wireless Internet Available High-speed wireless Internet service is available on select flights in all classes of service (installation on the remaining aircraft will be complete by the end of 2006). The cost of Internet access for the entire flight ranges from $9.95 to $29.95, depending on the plan selected. EL AL is the only carrier to Israel (and is among the first five airlines in the world) to offer this speedy Internet service in-flight on nonstop flights between the U.S.A. and Israel. The Boeing wireless Internet service is considered to be the most advanced system available in airline communications. Live TV service will be available, for free, for passengers who pay for wireless Internet. Passengers will be able to choose from four channels: CNBC, BBC World, EuroSport and EuroNews. Passengers in all three classes of service can watch EL AL in-flight entertainment on personal TV screens placed on each seat.
