Calistoga - A Napa Valley Town That Has it All

Northern California's Wine Country draws visitors from all over the planet, but where's one of the most interesting places to stay?

Calistoga, of course.

Internationally-known wineries such as Chateau Montelena (of the 1976 Paris blind-tasting fame) and Sterling Vineyards (where you arrive via aerial tramway), award winning boutique wineries such as Zahtila Vineyards, Old Faithful Geyser, Napa Valley Wine Train, COPIA (the American Center for Food, Wine and the Arts), Culinary Institute of America at Greystone, spas with natural geothermal waters and mud baths, hot air balloon rides, big name entertainment, casinos, Safari West wildlife preserve (see cheetahs and giraffes), the Petrified Forest and much more.

Calistoga's Natural Spring Waters

Calistoga is the place to "center yourself" while enjoying the healing benefits of restorative spa treatments that feature natural spring waters.

It is also an excellent place to center yourself geographically when visiting the area. It's conveniently located in the beautiful, serene northern tip of the Napa Valley with immediate access to wine regions of neighboring Sonoma and Lake counties.

The dozens of lodging options in Calistoga include natural hot springs resorts, elegant inns and cozy B&Bs. For details on lodging and other Calistoga information, please check out www.CalistogaChamber.com or call (707) 942-6333.

Outdoor Activities
Golfers have several nearby options including Silverado Country Club, which they'll recognize as the home of many nationally-televised professional golf tournaments.

For walkers and serious hikers there are abundant hiking trails that include scenic routes through Robert Louis Stevenson State Park and Bothe-Napa State Park. Cycling enthusiasts flock to the Calistoga area for its miles of country roads that wind through some of the world's most beautiful landscape.

There also are bike paths along the Napa River and world class mountain biking trails in the Palisades above Calistoga. Calistoga Bike Shop and Getaway Adventures offer bike rentals and guided tours.

Entertainment
Downtown Calistoga is host to two music and wine events each year (Mustard, Mud and Music each spring, and the Blues Festival in the fall). The Wells Fargo Center for the Arts is just 15 miles from Calistoga and features top name entertainment.

The Napa Valley Shakespeare Festival, Napa Valley Opera House, a variety of outdoor concerts, film festivals and art events at wineries are other entertainment options in the Calistoga area.
